Kiddieland Auction part2

Merry go round sells for $355,000.00

Kiddieland, the Melrose Park amusement park, opened one last time this morning for an auction of its rides.

Carnival enthusiasts and long-time regulars packed the parking lot for a final goodbye, with the park turning on the lights on its rides one last time. Scheduled today for auction were 430 separate pieces of park history -- from carousel horses to popcorn carts to bumper cars.

A private collector from Atlanta bought the first major ride of the day, with a winning bid of $17,000 for the bumper cars. The carousel later went for $355,000 to a Westmont business owner who plans to refurbish it. The Little Dipper roller coaster sold for $33,000 to Six Flags in Gurnee; it will be put in the park's kiddie section, hopefully by 2010.

On Sept. 27, Kiddieland closed its doors after an 81-year run, the result of a dispute between the faction of the family that operated the amusement park and another that owns the land and wanted to see it put to better economic use.

Costco is interested in building a store at the site at First and North Avenues in Melrose Park. The park's operators had been ordered to vacate the property by the end of the year.

Today's auction was necessitated after plans fell through to sell the rides to someone willing to relocate them to a new site in the Chicago area.

Co-owner Tom Norini didn't want to sell off his park in a piece-by-piece auction, but felt he had no choice.

"This is harder for me than the last day," he said this morning.

Among those browsing before the auction began at 10 a.m. was Dan Horenberger, a carousel refurbisher who flew in from California. In recent weeks, he said, he had tried in vain to persuade one of the readers of his trade magazine, Carousel News and Trader, to buy Kiddieland's carousel in whole.

The carousel is one of only 100 in the country still in its original form, he said.

"It's heartbreaking," he said. "We spend our entire life restoring carousels and saving them and now it's gone in 5 minutes."

Salvatore Balsamo of Chicago brought his adult daughter and son back to the amusement park they frequented as children. The family was hoping to leave with some small souvenir.

"It's crying outside," he said, standing in the rain. "The question is where are the young families going to take their kids now?"

Pictures from KiddieLand Closing Ceremonies

Attached is the link of pictures from the closing ceremonies and the history of Kiddieland.

Our closing ceremonies on October 4, 2009 were both happy and sad for all of us who attended. It was good to see generations of families at the park enjoying the opportunity to have one last ride on their favorite Kiddieland ride and then for the winning bidders to ride the last ride ever on specific rides. As we went from ride to ride, first telling the crowds when the ride was purcahsed and installed, we shared in the memories of hundreds of guests. We hired a professional photographer to come out and take photos of every guest in their seat prior to the last ride. After the ride was over we posed with every guest who wanted to to have additional photos taken. While many guests purchased photos from the photographers on that day, many others did not and have asked about getting them now. The photographer has created an electronic album where guests can view all the photos taken and then if they desire to, purchase them directly from the photographer. Guests can follow the link below to their website to view the photos.

CELEBRATING EIGHTY-ONE YEARS * 1929-2009 *
Sorry that some of our picture are not showing up and that others are a little Fuzzy. I am working on getting new and better quality photos.

Grandpa Fritz's first Pony TrackThe year was 1929, "the year of the Great Depression," and Arthur E. Fritz (Grandpa Fritz), like many other Americans, found himself in financial trouble. A builder/contractor by trade, Grandpa Fritz was unable to collect payment for his work. He managed to pay all of his creditors and with the little money he had left, he purchased six ponies and offered rides to children. Grandpa felt that in spite of hard times, parents still would try to save a few dimes for a little family entertainment. His pony rides soon proved to be a popular attraction that allowed parents to forget their troubles temporarily while they watched their children smile and have a little fun.
1930's
Although this was before the era of "kiddielands", Fritz thought about expanding his operation. Upon learning that a local newspaper was giving away gasoline-powered miniature cars to children as subscription premiums, he noted the names and addresses of the individual winners and soon followed up with offers to purchase the miniature cars. These became an additional attraction, along with the increasingly popular "Pony Rides".By the mid 1930's Fritz had given his little park a name - KIDDIELAND . This

Founder: Art Fritz in his Gasoline Powered Train that was painted to match the Chicago and Northwestern Linewas the first use of the name "KIDDIELAND ." However, his attempt to register the trademark failed, and the name eventually was used generically in reference to the type of park he envisioned - an amusement park with rides, geared primarily toward children by the nature of their size, speed and action. Fritz set standards of operating a safe, friendly, good-valued amusement park with standards of cleanliness and safety that continue to this day. Art Fritz has been credited with "launching a whole new development in the outdoor amusement industry." By 1940, Fritz had added the "German Carousel", two Miniature Steam Locomotives, the "Little Auto Ride", the "Roto Whip" and the "Ferris Wheel". The latter two rides are KIDDIELAND's oldest original rides coming to the park in 1938 and 1940!
1940's
The 1940's brought the era of "World War II" and as one might expect, delayed further growth and development at KIDDIELAND until the post war years. Still, as Grandpa Fritz believed, parents and grandparents always found a way to bring the children out to the Park to make some memories and escape their problems for the day.
1950's

The Little DipperBy 1950, Fritz once again was expanding his dream of the perfect place for families to bring their children to smile and have fun. Seven "kiddie rides", the "Merry-Go-Round", a hand-carved wooden carousel that still greets Guests as they enter the park and "The Little Dipper", a small wooden roller coaster, had been added to the park along with several maintenance/storage buildings. By this time Fritz's daughters and their spouses (our second generation) were well involved in the operation of the park and the growth and development of the park continued throughout the 1950's. Some existing rides were replaced with others.
1960's
In 1962, the original "Pony Ring" was removed and the "Scooters" were installed in its place, along with significant additional expansion to the

Kiddieland's Firetruck brings a child's Birthday Party to the Parkpark. By the late 1960's, several "thrill" rides were purchased to appeal to older children and teenagers. KIDDIELAND was beginning its evolution into the "family park" that it is today. At this time KIDDIELAND was operating with about 20 rides and attractions. In 1967 our founder Arthur E. Fritz,
The PolypGrandpa Fritz, died unexpectedly before he saw the "Polyp", the last ride he purchased, installed and operating at KIDDIELAND . Grandma Fritz (Anne) and our second generation continued to operate the park for the next ten years. Some of Fritz's grandchildren (our third generation) were involved in the park's operation by this time.
1970's
In 1977, KIDDIELAND was purchased by three of Fritz's grandchildren and their spouses (our third generation). Two of these families and their children (our fourth generation) are the Park's current owner/operators.

The Mushroom Ride The late 70's marked a change in the vision of KIDDIELAND 's future. The growth and development was in the direction of "Fun for the Entire Family." Additions in 1978 and 1979 included a game building and the "Mushroom Ride."
1980's

The Race-A-BoutsEarly in the 1980's, park growth and development continued with the addition of the ever popular "Race-A-Bouts",a gasoline powered antique auto ride that intertwined with the north loop of our train tracks and encompassed two small ponds. The original game building added in 1978 was replaced with a larger more accessible building, and the "Volcano Playcenter"

The GalleonOur last major addition to the park in the 1980's was the "Galleon" a high swinging brightly lit pirate ship that was installed in 1986. Late in 1987, Anne Fritz (Grandma Fritz), the wife of KIDDIELAND 's founder, died.

The logs then fall into a short elevated trough of water, which carries them to a peak before plunging them screaming down into a large pool of water, creating a giant splash before coasting around back to the station building. The station was recreated from a "post & beam" building that Art Fritz had dismantled and moved down to KIDDIELAND from northern Wisconsin. In Spring of 1995 some reshuffling was done to accommodate our Guests' wishes to have a bigger, better place to eat in the park. The "Sky Fighter" and the "Umbrella Ride" were relocated to the area previously used by our miniature gasoline powered Tractors in order to make room for a new Food

The ride takes you through a series of ups and downs and gives you a weightless feeling as your seat drops out from beneath you. Guest squeal with delight as they are bounced up and down. In 2008 we are planning on the addition of two rides. Our Kiddie Swing ride will be at the entrance to the Volcano Playcenter next to the Dip 'N Drop.

2009, Today, finds KIDDIELAND at the begining of its 81st season as a family owned and operated amusement park. It has over 30 rides and attractions and is Chicagoland's oldest family amusement park. "We are about Family, because we are Family". The Park has the reputation of being one of the finest traditional parks in the country. It is with great pride that at the start of its eighty-first year in 2009, KIDDIELAND continues to provide affordable memorable family fun, in a clean, safe, happy environment.
We at KIDDIELAND remain ever greatful for the opportunity to serve our Guests who have proven to be both loyal and supportive of our philosophy. It is our sincere hope that we can extend our lease and continue on for an additional period of time.

Kiddieland Memories

-- Back Again To Kiddieland --
Kiddieland, it's more than an amusement park, it's a link to your past and a path for the next generation to walk down. For you, it's a memory that takes you back to simpler days, when cotton candy was all it took to make problems melt away. You entered an enchanted land, made just for you.
At Kiddieland, Dad let you have that extra ice cream cone and it was suddenly okay to go running and squealing as loud as you could, chasing your sibling around the picnic table. You smiled and waved at Mom from the top of the Ferris wheel and then you fell asleep in the car on the drive home. Dad carried you into the house, tucked you into bed and you remember that day and couldn't wait to go back again...
Back again to Kiddieland, part of the fabric of Chicagoland. It's a summertime tradition, an icon to every child. It's as much a part of the landscape as Wrigley Field and Bozo The Clown.
And so the torch has been passed and now you're the parent, with little ones of your own. You'll see them rediscover all the wonder of their first kiddie ride and the magic that is still Kiddieland. Just like when you were a child, Kiddieland is the reward of having finished all their chores, it's what makes their birthday parties special. Win or lose, it's the fun treat after their big game.
Kiddieland is a treasure chest of family memories that your children will cherish and pass on to their children and their friends, or even your grandchildren, Kiddieland brings out the kid in all of us.

STAR TREK MONDAY @7pm

"The Inner Light"

An unsophisticated alien probe assumes a relative position, holding steady with the U.S.S. Enterprise, and releases a nucleonic particle stream that penetrates the ship's shields. Focusing solely on Picard, the beam knocks him unconscious. When he wakes up, Picard finds himself in unfamiliar surroundings, being cared for by an attractive woman. The woman, Eline, tells him his name is "Kamin," and he is her husband of three years. She also tells him that he has been sick and must be experiencing a memory loss. Picard soon learns that he lives on the planet Kataan, where he works as a simple iron weaver. His confusion is compounded when he notices that Eline wears an exact replica of the alien probe as jewelry. She tells Picard he gave her the necklace as a gift.
On the Enterprise, the crew is unable to revive Picard. Realizing the particle emission that has attached itself to him may control his life, they are afraid to destroy the beam. Only a few moments have passed, but on Kataan, it is already five years later, and Picard is settling into his life. He comes up with a solution to the drought that is destroying the planet, but his advanced ideas are laughed at by leaders of the primitive society. However, his life is not without its pleasures. Picard kisses Eline, an act that causes his pulse to rise back on the Enterprise. Worf insists they must destroy the beam since their Captain is under attack.
They do so, and Picard's pulse drops dramatically. On Kataan, where seven more years have passed, he falls to the floor. Acting quickly, the crew restores the beam. Back on Kataan, another 12 years have passed, and Picard has two children. The drought continues to worsen, and Picard's teenage daughter, Meribor, realizes their planet is doomed. At the same time, Geordi and Data are able to chart the probe's radiation to Kataan, a planet that was destroyed in a supernova explosion over a thousand years ago.
On Kataan, the years continue to fly by. Picard continues his quest to get something done about the drought, but his suggestions fall on deaf ears. Later, Eline dies, as does Picard's best friend Batai, and his first grandchild is born.
The elapsed time on the Enterprise is still only a few minutes. However, Dr. Crusher becomes alarmed when she realizes that Picard's metabolic rates match those of an 80-year-old man. In fact, Picard is actually 85 years old on Kataan, where the drought has almost completely destroyed the planet. His children and grandchild convince the unwilling old man to accompany them to a missile launching — an event they are all very excited about. Picard doesn't understand the point, knowing the missile will do nothing to save the planet or its people. However, as the missile takes off, his family, with the help of Eline's spirit, explain to Picard that they are launching a probe into the future to find a person who will bring them immortality by telling others about their planet after it is destroyed. Picard realizes the missile is actually the probe that brought him to Kataan over 30 years ago. As this happens, he wakes up aboard the Enterprise and is amazed to learn he has only been unconscious for 25 minutes, in which time he lived a third of a lifetime.

STAR GATE SG1 - 7PM TONIGHT

The stargate malfunctions while Col. Jack O'Neill and the SG-1 team are evacuating from a firefight on a hostile planet. As a result, Teal'c and Dr. Daniel Jackson make it back to Stargate Command, but O'Neill and Capt. Samantha Carter find themselves trapped near a stargate in an icy crevasse on an unknown planet. O'Neill is badly hurt — he has a broken leg and internal injuries — so it falls to Carter to try to dig the nearby stargate's dial-home device out of the ice and find a way to make it work. Meanwhile, as technicians try to repair the Earth stargate, Teal'c and Daniel try to figure out what went wrong and where their comrades might be. They could be on any one of a million planets, and if someone doesn't figure out which one soon, Carter and O'Neill will suffer a frigid death.

-
Col. Jack O'Neill and the SG-1 team arrive on PX3-989, only to be zapped by an electrical trap that renders them unconscious. When they awaken, they find themselves in an underground lab with Harlan, a strange but apparently peaceful native of PX3-989 who claims to be 11,000 years old — and who says he has not only fixed their injured bodies but improved them. When SG-1 returns to Earth, over Harlan's objections, the team members discover what he means. While they all feel like themselves, they are all now machines that have been implanted with the consciousness of the SG-1 team members. Worse, they will run out of power and die unless they return immediately to PX3-989. Upon their return, they confront Harlan, who, as a robot himself, is mystified by their demand that he put them back in their human bodies and sacrifice their immortality. Under pressure, he takes them to meet their human selves in hopes of brokering a compromise between men and machines.

THE COLONY - Tonight at 9pm on Discovery in our Parlor

What would you do in the wake of a global catastrophe? How would you find food? Water? Shelter?
The Colony is a controlled experiment to see exactly what it would take to survive and rebuild under these circumstances. For 10 weeks, a group of 10 volunteers, whose backgrounds and expertise represent a cross-section of modern society, are isolated in an urban environment outside Los Angeles and tasked with creating a livable society.
With no electricity from the grid, no running water and no communication with the outside world, all the volunteers have to work with are their skills and whatever tools and supplies they can scavenge from their surroundings.
Experts from the fields of homeland security, engineering and psychology have helped design the world of The Colony to reflect elements from both real-life disasters and models of what the future could look like after a global viral outbreak.
Over the course of the 10-week experiment, the Colonists must work together to build the necessities of survival, such as a water-filtration system, a battery bank that powered their electricity, a solar cooker, a shower system and a greenhouse – and even some niceties (a coffee maker!).
Tune in Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT to see who thrives and who fails to survive.
Don't miss the next chapter, Loss and Communication premiering Tuesday, August 25 at 10 p.m. The tragic loss of one of their own spurs the remaining colonists to scrape together a communications system that might bring him back

DATALORE

Season: 1

Episode: 12

Stardate: 41242.4

The U.S.S. Enterprise crew investigates the mystery surrounding the disappearance of an earth colony in the Omicron Theta star system 26 years earlier, which coincidentally happens to the exact same time when Lieutenant Commander Data was discovered.
While visiting Data's home planet, the away team discovers a laboratory containing android body parts. When Dr. Crusher and Chief Engineer Argyle assemble the parts, they bring to life a duplicate of Data! The real Data learns that the look-alike, named Lore, was once "alive," but was disassembled by the colonists on the planet who were jealous of Lore's perfection. As a result, a less-than-perfect android, Data, was constructed.
Unbeknownst to the crew, Lore gained revenge on the planet's inhabitants before being disassembled. He unleashed a ravenous crystal entity onto the colonists — an entity which feasts on intelligent life forms — thereby erasing all life on the planet.
As part of his scheme to turn the entity loose on the Enterprise, Lore renders Data unconscious and impersonates him. Just when he's about to succeed in his plan, Wesley Crusher recognizes Lore and urges his mother to find Data. Once back on his feet, Data beams Lore into space during a spectacular android skirmish.

Hide And Q

While rushing to aid the survivors on a planet rocked by a lethal explosion, the U.S.S. Enterprise is stopped by the dangerous "Q" entity who had interfered with their Farpoint mission several months earlier.
The powerful Q demands the Enterprise and crew abandon their rescue mission and partake in a deadly game which, according to Q, could result in either "the greatest possible future" for the crew ... or death!
The game involves surviving a confrontation with fanged, animal soldiers created by Q. Strangely, the major player in the game turns out to be Commander Riker, who is given Q's power and offered full membership in his continuum. After using his new-found power to save Wesley and Lt. Worf from the hostile creatures, Riker meets with the crew to discuss Q's proposal.
After the meeting, Q tempts Riker by telling him that if he joins the continuum, the Commander can use his powers to give his friends anything they want. Captain Picard, having faith in his crew's resistance to temptation and their common sense, urges Riker to accept Q's offer. Riker obliges by turning Wesley into a 25-year-old Starfleet officer, restoring Geordi's vision, creating a female Klingon companion for Lt. Worf and offering Data the chance to be human. However, to Q's disbelief and Picard's pleasure, the crew members decline the gifts because of their disreputable origin. Thwarted again by the integrity and ingenuity of humans, Q disappears, thereby returning Riker to his normal condition. (-Courtesey of Startrek.com)

0104 - The Broca Divide

Col. Jack O'Neill and the SG-1 team head through the stargate to a planet known as P3X-797 and discover a world divided into a dark and light side, with a population similarly split between the Touched and the Untouched. The Untouched, who live on the bright side, are humans, a Bronze Age people who seem almost like the Minoan civilization of Earth. The Touched, who live on the dark side, are heavy-browed primitives with limited skills and the brutal instincts of animals. The findings would be of only academic interest, but when the SG-1 team return to Earth, all but Teal'c and Dr. Daniel Jackson begin a startling transformation: They develop the heavy brows and act with the animal brutality of the Touched. Worse, so do many others at Stargate Command's mountain headquarters, including Gen. Hammond. As order breaks down and the project is jeopardized, Jackson and Teal'c head back through the stargate in an attempt to discover the reason for this mysterious transformation. Is this a disease that can be cured — or are O'Neill, the general and the others all doomed to live out the rest of their lives as throwbacks to the Stone Age? (-courtesey of SciFi.com)

The Battle

The crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise discovers an old style starship heading towards them shortly after a conference with a Ferengi vessel.
Much to Captain Picard's amazement, it is soon learned that the old ship, the U.S.S. Stargazer, is the vessel he abandoned nine years earlier in the famous battle of Maxia.
The Ferengi Captain, Bok, having since taken control of the U.S.S. Stargazer, informs Captain Picard that he is returning the vessel to Starfleet. Unknown to the Captain, a mind-altering device is also aboard the ship in his old belongings.
As it turns out, Bok is seeking revenge for the death of his son during the battle of Maxia, and the mysterious device he holds is used to inflict great pain on Picard. The Captain, his mind altered in terrifying ways, is forced to think about the horror of the Maxia battle. In an attempt to tarnish Picard's reputation, Bok also tampers with the Stargazer's records to make it appear as if the Captain fired on an innocent Ferengi vessel in the Maxia skirmish.
While Data, Riker and La Forge try to absolve the Captain, Wesley discovers patterns in Captain Picard's brain scan that match the low intensity transmissions being picked up by the Ferengi ship.
Although Commander Riker soon discovers the illegal, mind-altering device, the Captain has already beamed over to the U.S.S. Stargazer to relive the battle. This time, however, Picard thinks the enemy is the Enterprise. He ultimately tries to perform his famous "Picard Maneuver" with which he had won the battle of Maxia.
Before tragedy strikes, Data devises a strategy to seize the Stargazer with the Enterprise's tractor beam, thereby thwarting the supposedly unbeatable maneuver. In the meantime, the Captain, fighting the effects of the device, is convinced by Riker to use his phaser to destroy the mind-altering mechanism. By this time Bok has been taken into custody by his first officer, since the use of a mind-altering device violates Ferengi law. (-Courtesey of Startrek.com)

Justice

After delivering a party of Earth colonists to the Strnad Solar System, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise anxiously awaits a pending shore leave on the pastoral planet of Rubicun III.
The civilization, whose inhabitants are known as the Edo, is less advanced than those on Earth but is brimming with love, health and sensual pleasure.
Vacation plans are suddenly thwarted when Wesley Crusher, playing with the Edo children, innocently violates a planet law and is sentenced to death. At the same time, the crew is confronted by a mysterious vessel that appears to be existing in two dimensions simultaneously. The vessel, protesting the installation of Earth colonists in the Strnad Solar System, startles the crew by sending a powerful light object that enters Data's mind and renders him unconscious.
In order to determine the origins of the vessel, Captain Picard beams down to Edo and negotiates to save Wesley's life for a few more hours and asks for Edo assistance in determining the origins of the mysterious vessel.
Beaming aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise with Rivan, a knowledgeable Edo woman, the Captain soon learns the Edo consider the vessel as "God." To make matters worse, it is learned that the inhabitants of this powerful object are observing the crew's morals and preparing to pass judgment.
Picard returns to Rubicun III and despite Edo objections and the Federation's prime directive, beams Wesley and the crew back to the U.S.S. Enterprise. Preparing to face the wrath of the mysterious vessel for violating Edo customs, Picard and crew are pleasantly surprised that the judgment passed on the starship is favorable. The alien vessel fades away.

Lonely Among Us

While transporting two adversary civilizations to the conference planet of Parliament, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise pass through a mysterious "cloud" containing combinations of complex energy patterns.
Immediately, strange things begin to happen on the U.S.S. Enterprise. It seems that both Lt. Worf and Dr. Crusher have become afflicted with confusing behavior, while the ship malfunctions and repairs itself with no available explanation.
Soon after entering the strange "cloud," Assistant Chief Engineer Singh is killed while investigating the ship's mechanical malfunctions. At once the Starfleet crew begins investigating the circumstances surrounding Singh's death. Tasha Yar questions the visitors aboard the Enterprise and Counselor Troi puts Lt. Worf and Dr. Crusher under hypnosis to determine their thoughts during their spells of strange behavior. Both Dr. Crusher and Lt. Worf reveal that "it felt as if someone or something had invaded their minds and bodies."
After coming into contact with this strange being, Captain Picard shocks the crew with his bizarre actions. He commands the U.S.S. Enterprise back into the "cloud," thwarting the original mission to deliver the aliens to Parliament. The Captain, still under the being's influence, announces that in its struggle to return home, the entity accidentally disabled the ship, killing Singh and invading Lt. Worf, Dr. Crusher and himself. The being, now in full control of Captain Picard's behavior, announces Picard's resignation. Despite the crew's objections and their determination to fight the force that seems to be taking over Picard's mind, their efforts are in vain. The Captain is gone.
Commander Riker takes command of the U.S.S. Enterprise and orders the ship to proceed towards Parliament. By this time, the real Captain (in the form of energy) manages to move into the transporter relays and materialize back aboard the starship. (-Courtesey of Startrek.com)

STAR GATE SG1 NIGHT

Join us for a fun filled adventure of Star Gate SG1. It all starts at 7pm tonight!
0101 - Children of the gods

Col. Jack O'Neill retired from the military a year ago. Just before he left the service, he led an expedition through the stargate, an ancient portal that allows instantaneous travel to other galaxies. He is called back to duty by Gen. Hammond when a group of aliens emerge from the stargate, kill the soldiers guarding it, and kidnap a female guard. After seeing the aftermath of the alien attack and the strange bodies they left behind, O'Neill confesses that he defied the order to destroy Abydos, the world he visited via the stargate. He reveals that Dr. Daniel Jackson, the scientist who was thought to have died on that mission, is alive and living on Abydos. It is also clear that these aliens are not from Abydos.O'Neill is reunited with his old comrades Kawalsky and Ferretti and joined by Capt. Samantha Carter, an astrophysicist. SG-1 returns through the stargate to Abydos. They discover that Jackson has taken an Abydonian wife, the beautiful Sha're, and that Skaara, the young Abydonian boy whom O'Neill cherishes like a son, has grown into a fine young man. They also see Jackson's latest discovery: a giant cartouche covered in hieroglyphics that seems to be a map of many stargates throughout the galaxy. As they marvel, however, the aliens, led by the handsome but evil Apophis, are making use of a similar map. They emerge from the stargate on Abydos, and, after a brief battle, kidnap Sha're and Skaara. Ferretti, who was wounded in the firefight with the aliens, has seen the hieroglyphic code that indicates the aliens' destination. O'Neill and Jackson are determined to follow the aliens and to save their loved ones. With a troop of soldiers from Earth in tow, they track the aliens to the planet Chulak. There they discover that Sha're is now Apophis' queen; her body has been taken over by a hideous snake-like creature, one of a species known as the Goa'uld, who rule this planet and collect life-forms from around the galaxy to use as hosts.Jackson and O'Neill know that they can't save Sha're — but can they save themselves and Skaara before they're killed by the Goa'uld's guards and before Gen. Hammond sends a nuclear weapon through the stargate to destroy the planet? (-courtsey of SciFi.com)

STAR TREK NIGHT

Tonight in honor of the new Star Trek Movie, we will be showing Star Trek The Next Generation every Monday Night at 6:30pm.

Episode: 106

Season: 1

Stardate: 41263.1

Where No One Has Gone Before

The U.S.S. Enterprise and crew travel to uncharted territory when a test on the ship's propulsion system backfires and blasts the starship more than a billion light years from their own galaxy.
The blame for the mishap is originally placed on Kosinski, an arrogant Starfleet propulsion expert. However, it is eventually discovered that the mental powers of the Traveler, a meek, humanoid alien (acting as the propulsion expert's assistant), was the true catalyst for this potential catastrophe.
Complicating the dilemma of being lost in space, the physical and mental world are integrated in this galaxy — what the crew thinks becomes real. After seeing his crew as well as himself experience alternate realities, the Captain orders the passengers of the starship to control their thoughts.
To make matters worse, their only hope of returning to their own galaxy lies in the mental abilities of the alien, who is exhausted and dying. Captain Picard and crew soon discover they must focus their thoughts on the assistant's recovery in order to discover a way back to their galaxy.

Tonight in honor of the new Star Trek Movie coming out, we will be showing Star Trek The Next Generation every Monday Night at 6:30pm.

Episode: #107
The Last Outpost

The U.S.S. Enterprise is rendered powerless above an unknown and mysterious planet during a mission to repossess a stolen T-9 energy converter from Ferengi culprits.
Captain Picard, believing the Ferengi bandits initiated this withdrawal of energy, announces the U.S.S. Enterprise's willingness to resolve the situation. However, the Ferengi vessel reports that it faces the same predicament.
In an effort to discover who or what has tampered with their energy supplies, away teams from both the Ferengi and U.S.S. Enterprise starships beam down to investigate the desolate planet.
After a confrontation with the Ferengi enemy, a mysterious being known only as Portal, guardian of the Tkon Empire, materializes before both away teams inquiring, "Who will meet the challenge?" Portal, disenchanted with the Ferengi's barbaric and warlike responses to his inquisition, is intrigued by Commander Riker's wisdom. Once Riker passes several of Portal's intellectual "tests," power is again restored to the respective starships.
